Im not shure about Camaros but for Firebirds you would have to buy a new lid, not that it has any buttons to begin with but if any part of it was to brake. Of course you could always go to a junk jard...

My console lid has a small crack in it. I can get one in good shape but the button is broken. I'm asking if I can replace the broken button with the working button from my cracked lid.
Yes you can, just take out all the phillips head screws under the lid and you will see how it comes out, it is 100% easier if you remove the lid from the console first..... i have done this on a 87 Iroc-Z and a 91 RS
