Hood blisters for purging?

Hood blisters for purging?

I am getting nitrous, and I want to know if anyone cut out the little vents on their 90-92 Z28 hood blisters? I want to keep the vents there, but just make it functional for purging. Anyone ever do this? Would it affect the engine if it rained?
