An Ideal paintjob. Campy (Now with new Pics)

Well, I'v been slowly helping my father restore his '85 Camaro and I'm just as slowly going mad thinking about flag pattern paint jobs so I fleshed out a simple photoshop of what's been floating around in my mind for the last 6 months.
All opinions are welcome, and if you can post a beautifuly done flag pattern paint job, please do so.

I don't think so at all. It's nothing I would ever do to my car, but its laid out well, and the design itself would look sharp for a show only car.

If that's what you want man, go for it!

I believe there are several 4th generation show/race cars with flag paint jobs, try searching on google.

if you are going to use the car for a daily driver, i would suggest having a solid color with maybe some sort of flag design going down both sides...or even race stripes done in flag....or both, that's just my

I think it is kind of cool. just don't do it in metal flake. seen a few bass boats and ski boats done like that and it ruins it.

had an idea - what about a black car, with the US flag used like flames. you could do the blue with stars on the nosecone and part of the hood, then transition to the red and white stripes that end in tattered edges (like battle-flown flags in movies) much like flames on a car.

Just an idea.

that is great! I say do it! I like the idea for american racing stripes.

but def do what you photoshopped. IT is good to be different, especially when that different is good looking.

I prefer this flag inspired paintjob:
EDIT: can't get pic to upload but here is a link to a bunch of pictures of the car:
http://www.autoimagecustoms.com/main.htm

go to "customers rides" on the left and it's near the top on the right side. It's a 41 ****** Dragster

I agree with most of them... I think its fine for a show car but not for a daily. I like 3.1EyeCandy's idea better... that would look kickass.

Camaroguy18, Thank you for the awsome pics. They are a dream to work with. Not only do you have a very sweet ride, your photographs are probably the best I'v seen of a Camaro. BTW, sorry for not asking before using them. I picked them up some weeks ago and lost the ownership info.
3.1EyeCandy, JeremyNYR, and MetalliCamaroRS: I beleive all three of you are about right on so I decided to try a quick tattered and "flame transitioned" flag on black body, I know this isnt exactly what you had in mind, but its the best I could do on my lunch break.

now that idea i can get with for a daily driver. nothing wrong with that as long as they are not too bright... kinda go with the ghost flames if possible. would look very swwweeeet...

Jeez, how many word blocks do we have on this board?!? Yikes. They really oughtta tone it down a bit, I mean, we're adults right?

But yeah, those stars in the last pic remind me of the General Lee.

Yeah, It's the General Lee's younger Yankee cousin, Colonel Cam(aro) J/K

If it was toned down, with shading, that second one would totally own.

i have a request. could you make a red car (a deep red metalic) with some flat black ss stripes that start to tatter about halfway up the hood and continue to tatter to the end of the hood, but not go up on the top of the car. doing this on a cowl hood of some sort would be cool.

that last one is awesome, the stars look better, and I like how they go past the top of the bumper, but onto the headlight buckets, and front gfx as well
