Check out my new gauge pod

Just finished it a few minutes ago. I'm undecided on a couple things, thought I'd get some input here. My initial idea was to create a backdrop behind the panel, and then use some bright LED's to light the whole area behind the gauges.

My dad just gave me the idea to use some colored laminate behind the gauges, which I also think would look awesome.

The panel itself is 1/4" acrylic extrusion. It's supposed to be 10x stronger than plexi, and not as rigid as lexan.

Let me know what you think

Oh, in the semi vacant section between the gauge halves there will be a few LED's. My turn signals, brights, check engine, and ALDL communication. I may add a few in the lower corners for WOT, and a few dummy lights for my gauges. They will all be mounted cleanly BEHIND the acrylic panel, so I can maintain the clean, finished look on the exterior.

All the gauges except the oil and water are VDO. The oil and water are mechanical auto gage. When I get some more $$$ I will upgrade to electronic VDO.

Thanks guys

It all depends on the weather around here. Hopefully within a couple weeks I'll have it in.

I have a white face auto gage tach for sale if you know anyone interested. It's 3.5" IIRC. $35 plus shipping.
