Not enough basecoat - how do I fix?
Recently painted a car with BC/CC and after moving it outside in the sun I noticed some places where there was not enough basecoat (primer kinda showed). Can I scuff this up with some 400(?) grit, respray the basecoat in that one area and then re clear coat? Should I reclear the whole panel? I need your ideas expertise on what to do. Thanks

when you say in some spots, were is it at? All over the car in different spaces, or on just a certain panel?
If it is all over the car in different spaces, then I suggest a total repaint. If it is just on the hood or maybe a door/fender, then you may be ok to do a spot job. Do you have any of the paint that you used left?

The problem is near the bottom of one fender and on the adjacent door. I still have some of the paint the car was painted with, It is a sold black. What grit to scratch up the surface? Wet or dry? Thanks

Black is good!
Just wetsand with 400 both the door and fender. Then just respray with the black and then re-clear the panels. Shouldnt need to blend with black. May have to wetsand and buff later to get the textures to match.
