I was going to do the same thing so I could redye them and put new carpet back on. I was going to try and use a heat gun. Just use a low setting so you don't melt the plastic. It should come off pretty easy.

The carpet is also attached with staples (at least mine were). I had to bend the ends straight on the backside of the pannel and pull them through with pliers. I got the glue off without a heat gun, it is kind of like rubber cement.

I pulled out the staples, then seperated the carpet from the paper-backing stuff. Then I put each piece in the washing machine. I attached it back to the plastic panel using hot glue and it seems to hold just fine, however that was on a test panel. When I glue them all on I'll use headliner adhesive.

I just plied of the carper from my center console, pretty easy. I just took a heat gun which I didnt really need and hit it from the inside while pulling on it.

Nah it wasnt a problem at all for me. When I used the heat gun the glue mostly came off with the carpet or even then it was pretty soft and just pulled right off.

I'm planning on removing mine this summer to repaint the panels. Is there anyway to fix the carpeting that has that "fuzzy" look to it like it was pulled up slightly? Will throwing it in the washer only increase this problem?

I've never washed mine and I dont think I will even try but Im in the process of trying to figure out what to do about the those little panels when I get my carpet in. My cars getting a completely new interior so Im trying to figure out if they will sell me those little strips with the same color for the console and the two other little pieces.
