Undercarriage rust?

I wrecked my 88 iroc a while ago and now I've got replacement parts (hood, fenders, bumper cover, spoiler, etc). It goes in to the body shop this Monday, the 18th. However, I just recently noticed that the undercarriage has quite a bit of rust on it. I don't have a camera so I can't give you pictures, but I'm sure you can imagine what I'm talking about. Anyways, I was thinking about having the entire car repainted since half the body parts are being replaced anyways, but now I'm wondering if it's even worth it to paint the car if the undercarriage is going to rust away on me.

I'm thinking now I'll just skip the painting entirely (so I'll have a black, red, purple, and white car) if it's just going to become too much of a burden with all this rust underneath in the future.

What do you guys think? I don't know if its too hard to even know exactly what I'm talking about since I don't have pictures, but meh, I thought I'd ask anyways.

does it look like you can get alot off with a wire wheel? I have some light rust on the floor but it is only kinda bad in one spot.
