not true. My 91 bird has the battery on the pass. side. I think if you have TPI you get the battery on the drivers side.

Dan that looks pretty good!. If you go to your local auto parts store you can get a product called Surface Prep. I would spray the spots you are going to paint with it. This will help to remove any residue you have. It looks as if you have used some type of cleaner, but it left some run marks streaming away from the affected area. This tells me there might be some dirt and possibly moisture still lingering. Other than that I personally would have no reservations using POR15 or any other similar product. After I used POR15 I used a spray on bed liner to coat the underside of my car. That stuff is pretty tough and it looks pretty good if you mask everything off.

when you get the por-15 get the metal ready that goes with it. You hose the floor off then spray the metal ready on and let it sit. After 10-15 minutes you hose it off and let it dry then paint.

For top coat it might mean you can most likely paint over it would be nice to por 15 the whole underside and paint red over it.

well por15 cant be exposed to light and i know the bottom of the car wont see light, but i want to be extra safe from rust in the future, im undercoating the whole bottom of the car. i like the bottom of cars to be black

I used black and I painted over it without sanding. Given I used truck bedliner. It has held tough for 4 years now. Actually trying to remove it is quite a pain. I added some exhaust hangers at the beginning of this season, and a torch, sand blaster and scraper was needed. I am pretty sure if the metal disappeared I would still have a floor.

yeah, i think they have different colors of por15. the clear just loks like a shiny laquer. its pretty cool, if u dont trust por15, u can use the clear stuff and inspect it regularly to see if its rusted further.ive put 2 coats (4 cans ) of rubberized underbody coating...it looks real nice, im very proud. It looks like a brand new car underneath i'll get pics soon
