I was just curious. I work for 1 of the largest insurance companies as a network shop adjuster. I write all the estimates at our preferred shops.

A vehicle came in to shop that was hit all down right side from a uninsured driver. We already figured to repair and refinish each panel damaged like we normally do. On top of the "normall" estimate we added 1.5 hrs to tint/spray test panels to match original paint/ghost flame paint. added in 500 or so dollars for the chameleon paint for ghost flames, and 8hrs to airbrush flames. Whoever painted these flames originally outlined them with the chameleon paint and did not fill in or mask anything off. All original flame work done by hand with airbrush. All in all shop only wanted around 1000 to paint ghost flames. this cost includes extra money to buy additonal paint/materials. This shop has a reputation around town as being the best of the best. I have quality inspected a lot of cars and will admit it doesn't get any better than this. I still think this is a little low for custom paint!
