patching the floor pan
I need to know if it is a must to have SFCs to patch your floorpan...i know its to keep the metal from twisting or bending out of shape...i just have a small area about 1ft sq at most that i need to patch...right under where the driv feet sit
i dont have SFCs and dont want to go buy a pair just so i can repair my floorpan where a little rust has eaten through
is it ok to do it without SFCs or is there another method of bracing the floor? What NEEDS to be done?

Who said you need SFC's to patch a floor pan? Although it would improve your car a lot, it is not needed. What is needed is a piece of sheet metal or a cutout piece of a floorpan from the J/Y. Oh ya, you also needed a welder and some skill. No, not ninja skills or bowstaff skills. You need welding skills.

the shirt im wearing right now says "yeah im pretty good with a bowstaff"
i made it myself
anyways when i did a search on floor rust repair almost everyone i read said that its important to use SFC to keep the metal from getting out of place
during the repair
im clueless on the situation so i dont know not to believe that is correct
by the way i already have the rest of the list...welder, sheet metal, skills and rust kill and sealer

I think a spot that small isn't going to comprimise structural integrity. If you change the whole pan then may you'd want SFCs in there first.
