Fixing ripples on doors.

I would like to get my car painted but there are ripples on both doors. The car never had any paint/ body work done to it before. How do these ripples appear. Can a body shop take them out with out getting new doors? I dont really know how to do body work and am a little afraid to learn. Any suggestions would be very appriciated. Thanks

If they are what I'm thinking, they are caused by people leaning up against the doors. The doors are pretty much wide open inside except for a single brace. Metal gets it's strength with body lines and our doors don't have any. The metal dents very easily. The ripples you have are referred to as soft dents. They weren't made by an impact, but by just being pushed on or pushed in.

I have seen this many times and they aren't the easiest dent to remove. Good luck.

I'll kill the people who lean on my car. well its a little late now, If only i owned it since it was new. Thanks for the great info. I am going to have to take it to a body shop to see what they can do.
