Door glass differences.

Found an 82 camaro Z28 dirt cheap, but a punk kid down the street shot out the drivers door glass with a BB gun. I`ve been told there are subtle differences in the door glass from year to year. Can anyone answer this one? I want to hunt one down in a salvage yard but need to know what to look for. Thanks to all!

I'm not aware of any differences. I've changed doors on my car and I'm using the drivers side glass from my original '83 door and a pass side glass out of a '92.

The pass side glass was even out of a power-window car and mine has manual windows, so that's not an issue either. You just have to remove all the bracketry and just swap the glass.

i doubt the glass itself has any differences, but the doors and attatchments on the glass are slightly different
my passenger door (factory) has a plastic peice on the window towards the mirror, and another peice on the door that catch when you've rolled it up to the top.. locks nicely
my drivers door was replaced as some point and that catch peice isnt on the door

anyways its not important it works either way, but you said subtle so there you go :P

Thanks. I was told there were some differences in the mounting style on the glass bottom.
