They are a direct bolt in as long as you remove the bracket used to mount the floor retractor. It's held in by a couple of bolts. The floor mount will bolt right in after that. I have a set of them in mine and I used the cover from the old floor units as a cover and mounted it to the new ones.

can you post a picture of that? my brother's trans am has 4th gen belts, but as of now, there's just a gaping hole in the door sill.

The rear shoulder belts don't fit perfectly. They don't fit under those covers right, so you have to cut the opening bigger. Also, the thirdgen rear shoulder belts had kind of a T shaped thing to keep them in place, and the 4th gens have a fat tab to accomplish this. You'll have to grind either the opening in the thirdgen or the tabs on the 4th gen belts. But they sure do look good!

I don't have a pic but you simply drill out the rivet that holds the cover in place and you'll have to cut the old belt to get it off. I then slipped the lower mount through the slit in the cover (you may have to enlarge the opening a little) and then once you have it mounted on the floor line up the cover where you want it. I then used a self tapping screw in the rivet hole into the plastic of the new belt and viola! Make sure to have the lower belt mount good and tight or it will shift around.
