im just wondering if keyless entry is something relatively easy to set up and what all i would need to do all this (prices are nice also) thanks

 

The wires are all color coded, its relatively easy to intall. SHouldn't take more than 2 hours your first time. All you need is the keyless entry kit and a way to connect the wires (assuming you have power locks). You can either solder the wires and tape them up or get those crimp on splicers.

 

if you have power locks, its pretty easy.. on the same level as a full stereo install.


if you dont have powerlocks, its the same, except you'll also be adding door lock actuators.

 

I'm going to wire up the keyless entry from a 4th gen in the GTA instead of an aftermarket kit. I have a buddy who has already did this in his 91 Camaro and said it wasn't bad at all. His even flashes the lights and honks the horn.

 

dude, thats what i'm planning on doing. However, i have shaved door handles. Just going to use the unlock function to activate the door poppers. I got the 4th gen wiring from my LT1 donor car. I bought a remote off of ebay for $10. Its the way to go if you swapping a 4th gen anyway.

It is not much harder (you have to add actuators like MrDude_1 said). As for price, it depends on what you want to spend (brand and bells/whistles). It also depends on whether or not you want an alarm, remote start, etc. I sold off a pair of actuators I had for $15 on e-bay a while back new.
