92 highrise spoiler on a 91 RS
92 highrise spoiler on a 91 RS
First let me say I do do an extensive search and could not really get my questions answered. I'm getting the car painted before I receive the spoiler and will paint it later. I'm concerned about having all the holes welded up and the needing to use a few after all. See Picture if my q's are confusing.
Anyway, my car is going to paint before I actually have the spoiler. I pulled off the old 3 piece one and wondered how the new one bolts up. Here are my questions:
1. I know I have to fill the 6 holes on the 1/4 panels (3 each side), but do I have to fill all 6 on the deck lid?
2. Do the outermost holes and maybe the two center holes not get filled ?
3. If they all get filled, do the two center attachment points of the spoiler at least utilize the existing larger access holes (the capped holes that allow access to the spoiler nuts)?
TIA

Easy one this!
qu 1: Yes, all 6 have to be welded up.
qu 2; Weld them all up.
qu 3; No.
In your photo, the middle question answer is "yes, you do have to drill there".
Make sure you use the rubber gaskets also. As well as drilling new holes, you have to drill larger holes underneath in the lower skin to enable a socket to get on the nuts.
Ironically, I did this on my 91RS!!
Hope this helps.
Andy.
