Newbie MIG welding
Picking up a Lincoln Mig Pak 15 this afternoon.

Needed mostly for automotive stuff. Good/bad?
Also, is this the kit I need for gas?

Will initially be doing f-body floor repair.
What can I expect to pay for a tank of gas + tank? Is that the way it's sold or do I rent the tank?
I am totally clueless when it comes to this stuff. Guy down the street told me he would teach me to weld.

That should work fine for your floor repair. just dont plan on using it to weld in a roll-bar or any other heavier gauge metal projects. Weld with gas (stay away from flux wire), CO2-Ar mix gas. If you decide to weld with straight CO2, you will need an adaptor for your regulator (welding store sells them).
Tank cost depends on size you want. Larger tank= more money to buy and refill, but will last longer. You will buy your first tank (will probably be around $100), then exchange every time you need a refill (they just charge you for the gas $15-25 depending on size). However, you go to some of the bigger tanks, they only rent them (like 3 yrs), and you also pay each time you get a refill.

Bought a SP-135 instead. Better machine for about the same price.
Gas is 180 initially and then every time I need a new tank it's 57. Never need to buy a tank again. Acording to your prices I should be shopping around a bit more.
