ABS Headliner
I was thinking about ordering an ABS headliner board. I see that they are shipping rolled up by some of the companies that sell them. I am concerned about the shipping. I live in Ireland so it would be in transit for a few weeks. I was wondering if any of you guys that ordered headliner boards did they arrive okay. Is there any danger of them cracking or are they pretty robust.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Order mine from Hawks, Quality was great but, on how they get shipped - I don't like. When I recieved mine, it was rolled up like you said with 3 pieces of tape keeping it rolled up. It was rolled so tight that the tape bent the plastic. After about 2 weeks with the headliner unrolled, the bend was still there. I bent the bad spot in the other direction for 1 week. Bend was still there. After putting it in the car, it was noticeable but only if you knew it was there. I would've tried some heat but didn't want to take the chance of burning or melting the foam & felt.

Thanks for getting back to me. It is probably too much of a risk to order one as it would be over two weeks in shipping to get to Ireland. That's a lot of times being thrown on and off airplanes.

i dont think it would be bad. I think most of them are already boxed just waiting on shipping labels unless you get something custom. They say take it out of the box and leave it in the sun and it'll go back to its previous shape. If you have that concern tell them and they may tape it long ways instead of the 3 strips of tape which would keep it from having the problem 92'Sleeper had
i have ordered a t top and a hard top abs headliner. no problem with them. but i think mine were just folded. i think i also ordered mine from year one. either way the t top could be better fit and finish. the hard top was fine.

I ordered an ABS t-top one a few years ago and it too came rolled and taped. I didn't like the fit, no matter how I positioned it I had a gap someplace so I returned it. I searched junkyards in my area and actually found a near mint t-top headliner from no other then an 82 Trans-Am. How the first model year produced could still have a near mint headliner was beyond me. I bought that and had it professionally recovered from white to black. If the headliner is not too damaged they usually can be repaired and when covered and installed you'd never know.
It was pretty hard to find a good one though so I imagine finding one in a junkyard in Ireland would be near impossible.
