For the love of ***, this is such a rare car and an authentic race car you must RESTORE it to its former glory. Get repro stickers and paint it just as it looked when it was racing. Need a hand doing it, I am available!

hey Jumpinjoe, that isn't a standard firebird spoiler you have there. The firebird spoiler has the pillars much closer to the ends of the spoiler. What you have almost looks like a chopped down Camaro highrise spoiler. Either that or it could be the '88 only Camaro spoiler. Can you post more pics of it please?

Man....I am definitely with TPI383 and JerseyBandit on this one, you've GOT to restore that car to just the way it once was!!! That's an awesome find, if it's as rare as everyone here says it is, it would be an utter desecration to do anything else with it! Like Firebat said, if you're looking for something to modify and go to town on, save the mods for a planejane thirdgen.

A genuine players challenge car is worth worlds more than a beat down 87 iroc. NOT a good trade, you can pick up cars like that all day long for $500 or so. I would keep the players car and rebuild it. Run of the mill raggedy thirdgens are a dime a dozen.

WTF Need for speed?! 0 89's? are you feeling ok? I think someone gave you bad info dude. 111 1LE's were built in 1989. YAY!!!
So I take it you guys think i should stay with the red.
My father has all the vinyl cutters i need to re-create the decals. the only ones i cant are the Valvoline runoff stickers cause i dont have any clear pics. if someone has any i would love a pic or two.
jeremy, ill pm a couple of pics later tonite. im at work now.
And i took all of you guys advice. I just picked up a 1989 Iroc-z 350 TPI from one of the dealers we deal with. It's an 85,000 mile car T-Tops, Auto. It was his sons car but the son doesnt want it.
SCORE!!!!

Red is nice. But almost all my cars have been red. It looks like i'm just gonna restore the race car to red and i'll just re-paint the T-top car. I'm thinking about a dark metallic blue with white heritage stripes. and since i'm gonna put 92 panels on the t-top car, i'll have all the ground effects and trim I need to restore the race car!

I was thinking about that, but was going to paint the race car blue before it was stolen, and i already have the color picked out. that and my painter is going to marble the stripes in a silver color. it's gonna be hot when its done. The tire shop across the road from me is gonna give me a good deal on a set of dark grey Torque thrust II's in 18 inch. thats gonna look good

Your players car started red. Let's keep it red.
It doesn't matter if you've had a lot of red cars.. At least now you'll have one of the coolest red thirdgens ever.

OK. Ok. I get it!!!
I wont paint it any other color but the original red. the new question is, do I Put decals on it again, or do I just paint it red?

Umm. I dont totally understand the question 'where do you get 'original' stickers?' do you mean decals? i can reproduce most of the decals with my dads vinyl cutter. the only original stickers i cant get are the Mid-Ohio Valvoline runoff stickers from 96-97. im hoping to get a nice, clean pic of a couple so i can reproduce then and put them on the car. so anyone out there with valvoline run-off stickers pleeze send a big clean pic and i'll give you a llama. or, you know, a thank you.
