Cutting the crap out of the rear fenders to make room for slicks

Here's my situation. I have a very budget drag car and would really really like to fit 30+" slicks on the car. The rear end is the same length as 4th gen rears and I know these slicks will stick out of the well. Could I get a minitub and cut the fenders so allow these bad boys in there. I would get the whole professional job done but I dont have money. Need an alternative. Any advice, info, better suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

with some frame notching you can get more room, your real problem is hitting the lower control arms.
