91 -92 front bumper cover
Those are the first thing to dissappear at the local scrap yard.
Used ones seem to sell for a high price.
The prev. owner of my 91 GTA drove into some bikes in his garage. Messed up the bumper cover so he spray bombed the whole thing and cracks are showing thru. Wrong colour too. Would have looked better if he left it alone. Don't know if it's just the paint thats cracked of if it goes right into the urathane. I'll strip it some time over the winter and see. Cracks in the bumper cover it's self means its junk right?
Can you buy a new one aftermarket or from GM? I'm becoming a bit worried. Any online source for new parts I am aware of does not have them.

I tried to get one from GM a few years ago...and they wanted 600 bucks!
I dont know if they still have em though. I would ask some local body shops if they can get ahold of one. I ended up getting one for 75 bucks from a shop down the road from me.

Depends on if you want one with the front ground effects or not. I know personally i went on a nation wide hunt for a front bumper with out gfxs and didnt come up with anything under 500 bucks. The brand new ones from GM are 600 plus like stated above. If your looking for one with gfxs, there seem to be a lot more of those in the yards around my part of town, but fi your looking for a no gfxs one good luck, and let me know where the heck you found it at haha.

Just so you guys know, you can get the base model/trans am bumper from GM brand new for under $500, at least in Louisiana I can. I walked into to price one and the retail showed $603 but since I was nice he said he'd sell it for trade value at $487. That was at 3 separate GM dealerships. You could also walk in and say another dealer offered to sell it to you at trade price and they will usually drop the price with no questions asked.

I have never seen a used urethane part that is acceptable quality, at least not to me. And it is very difficult to find good quality or even decent quality covers for many people.

GMpartsdirect has it for $393, plus shipping, plus their BS fee.
It's part #10198360
The side front GFX pieces are also only like $75 each.

Long time ago, I worked in a plant that made the C4 bumper covers and the Viper covers. Was called Polyrim which wa a division of Dacoma which was a division of MAGNA. They were picky. Verry picky!!! I still know some of these folks. Imortant folks like the plant manager and the head chem. eng. that made a new recipe every day. They have the know how to make a 91-92 front facia. Should I bug them to make them or just say nothing?
Unless he rammed those bikes at a high speed I think its likely just the paint is messed up and the actual piece itself is fine. I've never owned a GTA, only Camaros, but if the front clips are made out of the same material, they are flexable and fixable. Chips, cracks, or spiderwebs are probably only at the paint level. The only time I've ever seen front clips need to be replaced is if the car is crashed with enough force to mangle the front end (aka broke in multiple pieces, etc), or heat damage causes the material to warp. Other than that, its probably fixable.
