Paint color question???

i have an 85firebird and i just put the T/A ground effects on it. I'm getting my paint job done at earl Scheib so i am limited to colors that i pic. First i was thinking of doing my car a whole gun metal gray(since my car is a light gray already). then i was thinking maby do the car gun metal gray and the ground effects black. but since the ground is usually black would that take the effect away and make it look weird maby from far away look like it has no ground effects lol i don't know. what are some good color combinations on my bird any other colors let me know pics would be great also if your suggjusting a color thanks guys.

You're right, in certain light, the black ground effects seem to disappear. I suppose if you painted the car gunmetal, then perhaps a lighter silver color, or maybe white may look good on the GFX. There are quite a few threads on the Auto Detailing boards that are full of Firebird pictures, try searching for those.

*Edit*

Try this one. . .

the black ground effects would look nice in daylight at certain angles and wouldn't show up at night. I'd go all gunmetal. If you go a shade or two lighter or darker, it'll just look like someone didn't do a good job matching the body color when painting the ground effects. If you went with black as your body color and gunmetal as your ground effects, that would be sweet looking day or night.
