hood latch

My hood won't open on my '91 RS, I figure the cable gave out. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can begin to try and open it. I tried accessing it form under the nose, but no such luck. any suggestions would be appreciated.

you could check right where the release handle is and if your lucky it broke right there......if thats the case just use a pair of pliers and pull the cable....if thats not where it broke i dont know what to tell you.....never personally had a cable break

Starting in 1987 GM started putting a big black plastic baffle in the radiator intake behind the front nose on Firebirds and Camaros. If you can somehow get that out of the way you can pull on the hood release tang where the cable normally attaches.
