Recovering stock steering wheel?

Just got my 88 RS yesterday and I've been doin alot of reading and looking forward to cleanin it up. Its got the 3 spoke wheel and its worn in most places on the vynil but at the top is a gaping hole so something has to be done. I've had good quality out of wheel skinz cover I put in my Lincoln a while back and thinking of doing one of those and chopping the stock vynil off and putting it back flush although that may not come out right because they make them to fit over stock I think.

Having it done professionally would cost as much as a V8 engine swap so thats out of the question. I also like the idea of a 93 up style wheel but I like the style of the stock one just fine other than the bad grip on it.

there is a company on Ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting
selling total reconditioned wheels and will buy your used one.
They still aren't cheap but less than you might think.

Ouch...still way more than I'd spend on steering wheel, thanks for the info though. What can I say I'm cheap...got the whole car cheaper than that I think I could do a black wheel skinz and leave the spoke sections showing a little. Probably wouldnt look bad

That's a very good price for a reconditioned wheel. New wheels sell for $400.

He does very good work. He did a great job on mine and for all that work that is a cheap price to pay.

He sold me a wheel outright, it's awesome, and anyone who looks at my 18 year old car always comments how nice the wheel is...
