Restoring beat 89 Trans-Am
Restoring beat 89 Trans-Am
Hey all, I'm trying to fix up a 1989 Trans-Am. The front fenders and front clip are already off, and the spoilder was beat up too, but the hood is in good condition. I am currently lookin for some of those parts, but I can find those on my own, my main concern is the rust.
Now, most of the rust has been taken care of, and it's going to need some patches and some putty. My friend said he could give me high quality paint job for a low price, which brings me to ask;
What color should I paint my Trans-Am? I would love to see a nice green, but I think the T/A would look horrible in green. So right now I am thinking to keep it white. Also, it has T-Tops, so some mad racing strips wouldn't work
The interior is grey, and it is flawless, I have never seen an interior this clean on a car this age.

I personally really like white Trans Ams, especially if they have GTA rims (the gold ones). If you look around this board you will find tons of 'just got the car painted' threads with thousands of pictures. Personally I'm going orange with black stripes in the spring but I have a hard top and a ram air hood. I personally don't think the stock TA hood lends its self very well to stripes.
I also have the Ram air hood, but I have the black rims, not the gold ones. The car will hopefully have it's body put back together around Febuary, and maybe around may I can have it painted, if not June.
