Ronal R15 17 x 9.5's with 285 /40's on all 4 ?

My apologies if this is somewhere... I've searched and read a lot about 285's on the fronts.

I just purchased a set of R15's and a set of 285/40/17 Kuhmo's and hope to have no issues up front. Stock ride height '89 GTA.

Anyone have a feel for this ? Should I have backed off on the front to a 275 ?

No rims yet... or I'd have my answer.

Thanks!!

Your probably going to want to back off. The 275 are a tight fit and some folks have rubbing issues at full lock.

My 275s rub a little at full lock. I wouldn't go any wider than that.

Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I guess since I have the tires sitting here fresh from TireRack, there are two options. Put 'em on and see what happens.... or put two on the rear, and get 2 of the same tire in 275 for the front.

Not exactly what I wanted... but sometimes you just can't get the tire/wheel combo right. Well.. seems like MOST of the time you can't do it like you want. I wanted a 26 or 26.5 inch tall tire on 17's, to fill the wheel well. Guess it's not gonna happen.

The Ronal's are still being 'painted' at the RonalUSA place. Estimated delivery to me is sometime before 1 Jan. I'll post back what I find.

Meanwhile... if anyone is running the R15 Ronal's I'll love to see some pictures...

Thanks everyone!
