My custom LED 3rd brake light (89 Camaro)
I have always loved the "in spoiler" 3rd brake lights of the late 80's Camaro. It is rather annoying to hav ea bulb out, and in my case I was missing the plastic piece that holds the bulb in place.
I installed an aftermarket OEM spoiler on a 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan 2 years ago, I had to remove the 3rd brake light as the spoiler covered it and had it's own. I recently found the tail light in the bottom of my toolbox.
I started by removing the clear lens housing from the outer transparent red housing. I cut a piece of 1/4" Lexan and drilled 2 holes to match the factory camaro 3rd brake light. I centered the LED tail light on the piece of lexan, and painted with flat black spray paint around the LED tail light. This left a clear oval in the center of the lexan. I epoxied the LED lens to the back of the lexan, on the painted side. Pull off the protective layer on the outside, and it's a nice flat shiny new tail light!

and now with this under your belt, do teh same thing except with the front turn signals, its simple and really gets a ton of attention when you have clears where clears arent made for...nice work

Nice job, but this jumped out at me a bit:
Why would anyone have any reason to do such a thing?

Good job on the retro. There are also other alternatives.

I have an 87 Camaro and I want to put a 91-92 z-28 high rise spoiler on it and my car has the third brake light in the spoiler, and I was wondering if there was anyway I could get a LED third brake light for the high rise spoiler? I would prefer one that has like a bow tie or one that says 350.
