Quick center console questions (yes i did a search)
Did a quick search, noticed a bunch of 3rd to 4th gen questions and camaro to bird questions. Just wondering if 84 console will fit without problems in 89.
More importantly, has anyone had to repair the tabs that hold the radio in the console. Mine were damaged when radio was stolen out of car fall '04 and have not had the time to take everything out and attempt to measure, design, build, and install something.
If anyone has done this or has some opinions id appreciate it. Its cold, but if i get a sunny day im gonna work on it. Worst case scenario is i buy one off ebay, restore, and install, but i think reinforcing the brackets would be worth while and beneficial to whomever gets my car in the future.
Thanks,
Dave

sad to say the radio pod is gonna hafta be repaced. it would take WAAAY more time and effort than its worth to repair it.
as for the console, there are a few guys here that did an automatic 4th gen console in a auto third gen. luckily for me my 89 is a stick and the 4th gen stick console drops right in. the auto will need some work to fit but its dooable. plus it looks MUCH better than when our stock units come apart. the 4th gen piece flos well in our cars.
