Some ****ty floorboards!

I cant believe it was this bad!! Im probably gonna scrap the car after this year and start on somethin new. Im also thinking about UMI subframe connectors to make it a little safer.

The wierd thing is that the body is fine, paint is glossy, and the passenger side had just 1 hole in it. hmm...

I say fix it, find a donor car and cut out the sections of floorplans you need and weld them in. Or just buy new floorplans from year one.

Most modern cars are now uni body cars, so unless youre buying a truck or an older muscle car youre gonna be stuck with uni body

Ouch, mine had only one whole, and that was because of a bad cat. Well i say make some patch panels, weld em in, and then smear some tar around em. And if you still feel skidish, put in some subframe connectors.

If the car launches as hard as I think it will, Im gonna need the sub-connectors. I also want them just because its some bracing directly under my seat. I might do an 80's S10 because of the ground clearance and the entire front end comes off very easily, making engine repairs quick and painless.

What do you guys think might have caused the floor on the drivers side to get that bad? The car was undercoated since before I got it. It didnt leak on that side when it rained. Somethin had to happen along the way

I don't see a reason to scrap the car. Floor boards are available, as are subframe connectors. An S10 isn't going to handle or launch as well. Overall, a thirdgen is still one of the most affordable go-fast platforms you can buy, except maybe for an early 80s Malibu, but solid malibus are starting to get expensive too. If the floor boards are all that's wrong with the car, fix them. If the whole car looks like that, trash it.

Underneath, the rest of the car is as rusty, just not as many holes. I know S10's arnt the best for racing, nor do they look anywhere near as good as a 3rd Gen, but they're lighter and easier to work on from my experience. But whos knows, thats a ways away from now. Gotta make do with what I got, which is one rusty camaro.

Dont do an s10, get another f body, if not a 3rd gen you can pick up LT1 cars now for pretty cheap. Thats the route I would go if I were you.

i got lucky. I bought my 89 camaro for 2200 and there isnt a spot of rust on any of the underbody. My last camaro on the other hand is a different story. Its def. something to look for after you experience this when buying another one.
