Seatbelt question

Alright, I had my headliner recovered at a local shop and even before they got it I had a number of broken seatbelt pieces in the car from the previous owner. Well, after it came back from the shop the car sat at a friends house for a few months while we worked on the engine. I think the piece I'm talking about was unattached when we got it back from the intereior shop but I can't remember. This is what I'm talking about.....(pic). I know this piece has to go into the sail panel/headliner somehow but I can't figure it out. Is the piece broken (missing a lip, edge, joint, etc.)? It looks to all be intact. My drivers side doesn't even have one so.....as soon as I figure out the passenger's I'll get one for the drivers.

Ok, been a long time since I had my headliner redone, but, if I remember correctly the piece that sticks out from what goes around the belt goes behind the headliner. I think we set mine in before putting the sail panels, overhead console, etc on. But if you're careful, you should be able to slightly bend the plastic and put it into place. If I'm wrong, I'm sure somebody will chime in and correct me.

when i replaced my seat belt, that part "snapped" in, not much work there.

Also dont know if you noticed, the seat belt needs to be flipped inside the piece, its twisted.

I would take the sail panel off...nothing worse than breaking something because you didnt want to spend 5 minutes lining up the screw hole after. Just had my headliner redone also...it "snapped" onto the seat belt mechanism in the roof.

Thanks guys. I took the sail panels off about 4 months ago when I put in my sony xplod speakers and it took a few times to get get the fit and tightness right so that it wouldn't rattle or vibrate any when I had the stereo at a high level. I guess it's gonna have to come back off fo that piece to pop in there. I can't wait to find some 4th gen seats to bolt in.
