t-top seal
t-top seal
I put new t-top seals on the car. The vendor said not put sealer along the top middle edge where the two t-top seals met. there is a huge gap there and if you pour water in that area it leaks like a crazy. Is there suppose to be sealer there or not?

I had a leak in my IROC after I changed the gaskets, and I discovered that the water was leaking in underneath the black center bar. If you silicone under that, you shouldn't have any leaks.
I am not sure how to post pictures. I did put sealer under the center bar. The gap I am speaking about is on the outside edge of the center bar where the t-tops hook into. I will try to post pictures later.

The bottom edge of your weatherstripping should be sealed to the center bar, there should be a continous bead of sealant between the strip and t-top opening along its entire length. Is that the issue?

I had the same problem.
There is a big opening in the roof right under the center bar. The water leaks in there, then runs on the top of the headliner and onto the plastic roof trim between the headliner and the rear glass. It then drips onto the back seats.
I spent months thinking it was the hatch that was at fault until I pulled down my headliner and saw the water lines.
You can try filling the area with silicone, but the proper way to fix the problem is to seal the t-top bar to the roof around the roof hole.

I did put sealer under the t-top bar. I don't have the headliner in so I don't believe it is leaking under it. I think the water is coming in the hole and running under the weatherstip and leaking out the corners. If I pour water in the front gap it comes out the front corners. If I pour water in the rear gap it comes out the rear corners.
