I have a couple of questions, the main one being around how much should it cost to have a paint job done? the color of my car right now is sunset orange metalic, and i want to have it striped down, like it needs a new primer, then i want them to paint it sunset orange metalic again. basically it needs to be redun because it is peeling, it is a very bad paint job, the owner before me had it done. So basically my questions are, around how much do you think it will cost? and when they do it, do they replace all the seals around the door and windows and t-tops? like do you think that would be included in the price?

 

hey, since i work at a paint shop, i would tell you to have then take the car down with 80 grit until its all even, no need to go to bare metal unless the paint is peeling off to uncover bare metal. Just have them strip down that orange color to the next layer of paint and then they should hit it with 180, then 280, then 320, then wetsand, then scuff stuff it. as far as price, if ur body is straight and no body work i would say around 2500-3500 for a nice paint job. No they usually dont replace gaskets unless requested. And then your loooking to spend another 500 for the gaskets if you have them do it cause they will dick you and get the cheapest and price you for the most expensive. I would suggest to have them paint it, then you buy ur own gaskets and install them, Its easy. If you ahve any other questions just ask. Hope this helps
