Prepping Underneath of Harwood Hood
What is the best way to prep the underside of the hood for paint? I want to get rid of the glue? that hold the two pieces of the hood together. Also, how about sanding it? Thanks, BranZ

Sorry to say this...but you really need that glue that holds the 2 pieces together. If you remove....it's possible for the hood to separate.

just scuff it up a little bit with an abrasive pad. I wouldnt sand off a lot of the glue either. If there is a lot in a certain area then sure take a little bit out.

Does it make since to paint the other side? Would it look bad not to paint it? The car is white. I am just anxious to get it back on the road. BranZ

I wouldn't paint it, unless you really want to. I didn't and most people that I know didn,t. Plus I also plan on painting my engine compartment black in the future. Oh yeah, my Z is white also.....

I painted the undersid eof my hood with just the silver base color that Iused otpaint the car with. It has a silver flat finish since I didnt clear it. It dont look bad at all.
