Get the friend to do clean it up! He never gets to ride in your car again. Tell him I said so.
.
Now, I'd say you take out whatever the dude puked on and wash it like there is no tommorow. If its the seat, take it out wash it and let it air dry. Use butt load of fabreeze if you need to.
If its on the carpet, you can wash it in the car, but make sure you can lift it and wash it from underneath. I've done interior swaps before and its pretty easy, but takes few hours with few beers.
What I did, and many would concider this "ghetto", is I took those little paper towle sheets that you put in your dryer with clothes to make it smell good, and I put them under my new carpet just to keep it fresh for few days. It kind of keeps the carpet smell good while the whole thing gets used to the car. Untill it airs out is what am saying.
So get some Fabreeze, clean the areas affected with lots of water and than use the towels if you want to. Fabreeze it till the smell is gone.
Get a nice air freshner and make sure you take T-tops off or at least windows down for few days.
laters.

Buy that sanitizing spray that actually gets rid of the bacteria and such for AFTER you do all of the above.. The febreeze will make it smell better, but buy this too.. It's like the aerosol cans that always smell like "potpuorri' or whatever, except it just says antibacterial..
That stuffs your friend...
