help with reinstalling wiper motor/linkages

I thought I was gonna make my 89 a full out drag car about a year ago, and now Ive changed my mind. I took out the wiper motor, linkages and all that. Well, now I got another motor and linkages to go with it from another car, but its only 2 speed, but I dont care about that. I just wired it up to a seperate switch so I dont have to go through my steering column AGAIN!

But anyways, I wired everything up and turned em on, and the wipers only move about an inch up the windshield! The motor is turning 360 degrees, but the stud that the linkage hooks up to stays in one position the whole time. Is the stud supposed to turn as well? Hell, I might have the linkage hooked up wrong. Anyone got any pics, or even video, as to how its all hooked up? I took the cover off of the motor and there doesnt seem to be anything broken inside.

Wow sounds like you have a hell of a guessing game ahead of you. i made the mistake of taking out my wiper motor one time when i was trying to get more room under my hood to pull an engine. Come to think of it i dont remember how i got it all back together but it was a major PITA. As for the lack of movement, did you check to make sure the linkage rods are the same legnth? maybe its different from a intermittant and the 2sp. Remember, a 1'' difference here could mean a 18'' difference in range of wiper movement. Its all about the ratios...
