Hello guys and gals,
I am looking for different styles of reverse scoops for a new hood that I am getting fabricated. I am a little short on ideas and details so any help on designing will be appreciated.
The front end of the car has been chpooed off and radiator is now leaning towards the front of the car so that the air comming from below will be passing thru the radiator and then thru reverse scoop opening on the hood.
Thank's in advance
Edgardo

What primary function is this hood going to serve? Airflow for the radiator, the engine, or both? If it's for the rad. I'd put an aerodynamic lip along the front of the scoop so that it creates an area of low pressure along the top of the hood to pull air out. You could then run a cold-air induction to right in front and to the side(s) of the radiator, and have the best of both worlds. But really, we'd need to know what kind of application it's going to be used for before the gurus could answer
The primary function of the scoop will be to pull out air of the radiator. I understand about the how the design should be, but in what I have a bit lack of ideas are in the appereance; double scoops, one large one, finned or not. I would like to see some pictures (if any) of 3rd gens with reverse soops to get an idea of how it looks like.
Thank's

I would say research the "V-Mount" design. Its something I wanted to do to my car but I don't have the fabrication skills to do it (the radiator support needs to be modified). But it sounds similar to what you're doing, the radiator is repositioned at a different angle and then an intercooler is positioned on top parallel to the ground. Combined with the correct vented hood (which are all reverse cowl or "jap style" as you guys call it) and venting in the nose and you can move alot of air through there. Another plus is the IC is usually located closer to both intake and turbo and the piping can be straighter so there is less psi drop through the IC. Here's a small diagram to help explain:

Many thank's, that what was exactly what I was looking for. I used the search but could not get that same pictures, I guess I saw them about a year ago by fooling around in the forums.
I am going to post some pictures of the current project.
