weatherstrip adhesive!

I finally got my t-top weatherstrip kit and center molding from f-body motorsports. Is there a chemical to remove adhesive from old stripping and what should I use to set the new stuff in?

3M sells an adhesive remover that works pretty well, but brake clean has always done the trick removing adhesive if the area cant be affected by the brake cleaner or isnt visisble...wouldnt want to fade or remove paint or fade plastic using it somewhere more visible.
