Re ; lower moldings on GTA doors...

Re ; lower moldings on GTA doors...

Does any one know how the Lower moldings on the 91-92 GTA's are held on?
are they taped on? ( cant really see GM doing this ) or are they held on by clips?? ( hope not ) or possibly screws from the inside of the doors? any help is greatly appreciated...thanks GTA......

they are held on by speed nuts.You will have to take the door panal off.

Steve..? I hope .... Can you explain a bit more about what exactly a speed nut really is or better yet a pic... Are speed nuts easy to remove and install again??

If he is talking about what I'm thinking of, it's a thread cutting nut... a crappy stamped nut out of hardened steel that cuts it's own threads when you put it on (same thing hold on the door handles).
Looks a little like this and come in standard socket sizes...
