Floor Pans
Floor Pans
I bought a 89 RS the other day and I really want to fix it up nice but the only thing that is holding me back is the amount of rust on the undercarriage of the car. The floor pans are shot and I was wondering is it worth fixing or maybe selling it and getting one that has less rust. The rest of the car is very solid by the way.

Floor pans aren't to hard to weld in as long as you know what youre doing when welding. I'm not the best welder around so I leave the big stuff to my girlfriend(she's a certified autobody technician...can't everybody be so lucky.) But floor pans I've done, Just be careful when cutting out the old ones, and make sure you leave yourself enough of the old metal to weld the new too. yearone isn't too crazy on their prices for floor pans, that's where we got ours for my girls camaro. Another thing you might want to look into is POR 15. I coat the frame and underside of my cars in it. Great stuff.
