I think I made a mistake...

Well, I wanted to replace my stock sport coupe spoiler. So I start takingoff the nuts, I see 6 of them. 4 for the back and I see the 2 middle ones up front. The 2 outer ones I see where the nut is supposed to be but there's a bunch of black goop there. I removed that stuff but found nothing holding it on. So I thought maybe it's a clip and I just have to pop it off. Well I popped it off alright, breaking the bolts that are attached to the outer front of the spoiler.

Now my question is, after I did this it looked like the threads were welded on and that it wasn't a bolt and nut like I had thought. Is that true?

it's a stud just like the high rise spoilers. it screws in to the spoiler and then has a nut on the backside of it to attach it to the decklid.
