Window sweep removal
How do I remove the outter window sweeps without removing the window glass?
Painting the car and need access to sand down the old paint
Additionally...
Common to autozone, advance, o reilleys
What are some urathane bumper strippers, and adhesive removers for the door moldings, and urathane repair/glues?
I looked in the local stores and didnt see any chemicals like those
I tried the rub with finger/fingernail method on the door molding glue but after 2 hours I had only 8 inches kinda cleaned

a product called Goo Gone might be of help for the door moulding glue. It shouldnt damage the paint either, i used it on a freshly painted car once to get pinstripe glue off

Outter window sweeps are held in by phillips head screws. You take the door panel off, put the window all the way down and remove the screws. The center two screws are a little hard to get to, it helps if you have someone to hold the window out of the way. It also helps to remove the 2 inside window felt adjustment guides to give you a little more play when moving the window away from the outter sweeps.
Hope that helps

As for the glue I used Paint thinner and some elbow grease.
I was also told if you use a heat gun it will help, never tried it as I didn't have a heat gun just thinner seemed to work ok for me.

I made the following thread a few weeks ago:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/body...ghlight=Window
It's about re-installing the felts, but the pics and descriptions might help on the removal, too. And unlike a poster above, mine were not held in by Phillip's head screws, but 7mm sheetmetal screws.
It's kind of a pain in the butt, especially the install.
