Will This Steering Release Work With This Wheel?
The leather is falling off my steering wheel so im gonna buy something to replace it until I can get around to getting it recovered. I was looking around on ebay and came across this steering release and this APC steering wheel. I was thinking of getting the two and replaceing the APC sticker witha chevy sticker I have. I need to know if this wheel and wheel release will work and if thats all im gonna need. I don't wanna spend more than about 100$ buck cause this wheels only gonna be on the car for acouple months(a year at the most), and I though this would look cool and stock with alittle bit of cool factor with the wheel sitting on the dash at the car shows.
Also I know im gonna need a wheel adapter.

I'm not personally a fan of pull off steering wheels, but at any autozone, there is a small variety of steering wheels and adapters. Just remember, the more you like the wheel you put on, the longer it is going to take you to fix the old one.

I have a 88 Trans Am and the leather was starting to rip. Then I noticed its a vinyl steering wheel that was wrapped with leather so i pulled the leather off and cleaned up some old glue on it and it looks great.
I think your best bet is to contact each manufacturer and ask them if it'll work together. When I did my quick release hub on my IROC-Z it was advertised to fit the 3rd gen Camaro on one side (hub side) and also advertised to fit the Grant steering wheels on the other. So it was very specific and it worked perfectly, those E-bay auctions don't seem as specific. Best bet is probably to ask. Beyond that I would question going with the no-name E-bay stuff, in my opinion you're taking a risk. I've known people that have bought all kinds of no-name stuff off E-bay and had it fail, luckily none of the stuff was that important. Who is to say that quick release hub won't fail while you are driving and cause an accident? Up to you man, I'm just saying watch out. On my car I'm running a NRG quick release hub with a Grant GT steeringwheel, never had any problems whatsoever (drifting approved!). NRG has a good reputation in the import world and they only recently released a quick release hub for us so I went for it. The hub was $80 and the steeringwheel was $60 (both new in box).
