Rear hatch stuck shut!

Rear hatch stuck shut!
I just purchased the car and the hatch wont open. Im not really sure where to start on fixing this problem. Any advice? Thanks

Axle/Gears: 3.45, 3.27, 3.27
Fold down the license plate and use the key to pop the hatch. If this doesn't work, crawl into the hatch area, pop out the hatch light. You'll see a circle with a small slot in it. Use a flat-blade screwdriver and turn it Counter-clockwise.
