cowl hoods/scoops
I've been considering a hood scoop for my 84 camaro....not really crazy about the cowl hoods with the opening back against the windshield, but most hoods with functioning scoops are that way.......is there some design advantage to a rear facing opening like that ?? besides that rain wouldnt get in as much ??????

The main function of a cowl hood is for raised intakes and carb clearance. I run a raised intake with a 2" spacer. I know I couldnt close my hood if I still had the factory hood. They really don't allow any extra air to get to the carb/FI being as the opening in the rear.

clearance is my main problem, too..... really wanting to find a scoop that works that faces forward......dont run a spacer under carb, but I need a 2" element to let my hood close...dont know if it will flow enough air for full throttle needs...
