4G headlights on a 3G

So, I parked next to a '93-'97 Z28 at the drugstore a couple days ago, and I realized that the headlight setup looks very similar to the setup on my '87 IROC. Then I recalled that the buckets on my lights are rusting out and the adjusters don't work (which sucks... my passenger low beam won't point where it needs to point).

Now, you can flame me for asking this outright if you like. You can lecture me on how to use the blasted "search" feature if you like. Whatever. I used it... I didn't find what I wanted after looking through a good 20 or so threads... so... here goes...

Can the composite headlight setup from a 4G Camaro be swapped onto a 3G Camaro? All I think I'd need to change would be wiring (beef it up for extra current) and swap the buckets/bulbs on my car for the buckets/housings off the donor car and then some 60W/100W bulbs... 9005's (lows) and 9006's I'd presume (my Cavalier and Caprice used the same bulbs). Any assistance would be appreciated.

And now... back to sifting through threads for more headlight info.

i'm sure it can be done, anything is possible, but aren't the 93-97 headlights about half the height of the 3rd gen camaro headlights?

I don't think so.

I think I'll try to figure out where a junk yard is near Kittery, ME. I'll see if they have a 4G with a decent front end, and measure the lights. I think my idea would be cheaper and more productive than some questionable aftermarket crap.

Dammit! I guess it's back to the drawing board again.

Did any year 3G Camaro come from the factory with composite lights? I know they were putting them on B-Bodies in the late 80's (I had one... 1988 Caprice 9C1; it even had composites with glass lenses).

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
4th/GP headlights are 4-4.5X2-2.5. Thirds are 4X6.
I was thinking of the swap and move the turns (Using 'bird turn sigs' with a blank panel to fill rest) to up under the headlights to kill the empty space.
