4th Gen Seats, do you need 4th Gen belts?

Most of you know that I've been restoring my 84, and one of the things I plan on doing is putting in some 4th Gen seats.

I started thinking today, do I need to put in 4th Gen belts too?
Want to make sure I buy the right belts since I need a different color.

Thanks
Chris.

Are there any differences between the gens, look wise? Do the 4th Gens look better, or work better?

A seatbelt is seatbelt, they don't work or look better. Unless you want to remove them and replace with the 4th gen ones its your choice.

I have to replace them either way because I'm doing a color change.

I'm just wondering if the 4th Gen ones have a differnet button for unlocking? Did they still use that red button? Or did they do something else?

I know many of the older 3rd gen ones had that recall issue too.

Only real diff in 3rd to 4th gen is 4th gens dont use the retractor on the door sill, its all overheard in the headliner

Swap em over direct fit but there will be a new gap in your door sill trim beacuse the reciever is not there

Very early models sometimes had sill trim without the recievers but are few and far between (82-83)
