Have an '89 with 12k miles ( 1 owner/documented)

The pass & driver jambs have a slight tape line along the edge. The jamb appears semi-gloss/base tint. Were parts of these cars taped off during the clearcoat application?

I've seen/owned others similiar.

My '89 has no tape lines. The door jambs are clearcoated.
I bought it new, so I know it's history.
