I need advise on instaling/uninstaling fendres/bumpers on my 91 firebird
Hey Folks, the job looks fairly simple but if anyone knows of any snags to avoid or tips to make the job more pleasant please advise. I gota change a fender, nose cone and a rear bumper. My Haynes Repair Manual does not cover it? Also if anyone knows a a book or web site with instructions/pics
drop me a line.

its not hard, self explanatory
remove bolts and nuts
when reassembling to line up panels its good to have some body shims of different thicknesses on hand, i use washers since i can never find body shims when i need them
i always align the fenders to the doors getting the gap right and making the fenders stick out a hair further more than the doors so the doors will tuck in without rubbbing the fenders, and then after the fenders are good and fixed in place then i align the bumper cover
sometimes you have to loosen up the bumper frame and adjust it if you cant get everything just right
good luck

Remove the inner fender wells and antenna stud. They snag on everything and are a general PITA
If you have ground effects, put them on the nose before you bolt them to the fenders. It will be bulky and look goofy but you have a high chance of snapping the front mounts trying to get them on after the nose is on the fenders
Use painters tape to cover the paint near seams so the bolts dont scratch it up
Depending on how *apart* your pieces are, it might be easier to align if you bolted the whole front clip together before you put it on the car. Minus the hood of course

tip wise... all I can tell you is bag your parts. I know it's the number one rule, but forgetting can cause headaches.
Alignment is the biggest pain... but be patient and you'll get through it (if your pieces are well-aligned now, you can always mark the bolts.
