Advice - Hood insulation

Hi everyone, i just wanted to know if there is any reason i should keep the hood insulation under my hood ? it's getting really old and if it is only a question of acoustics, i'll be removing it for sure.

Thank you !

You can buy replacement ones for a low fee. Like under 25 dollars. The insulation does provide for a quiter ride.

I ripped mine out, it was all torn up and sagging all over the bay. Don't really know what kind of sound it would deaden, only sound from my car is from the exhaust

Re: Advice - Hood insulation

also protects your hood from hi temp that may cause you paint to fade. i also took mine off cause it was falling apart and noticed that the under side of the insulator looked new i was planning on trying to flip it and reinstall it but sold the car before i could try this. if the holes line up give this a try.
