radiator support brace?

does anyone know what the two round steel braces that cross in front of the radiator do ? they are kinda in my way and i was thinking about leaving them out. they are only fastened with screws into speed nuts so i cant see them doing to much as far as keeping the front from flexing

You could probably remove them, but I'm sure you'll hear a noise. They might not be there to make anything stronger, but could be there to keep something from vibrating while driving. It's been a while since I've had a chance to be in or under the car.
