T-top trouble!

Hey guys, I'm replacing my lexan t-tops with glass t-tops and I think I have a problem. Well actually I know I have a problem. The lexan tops that I used were great and never leaked, and I've never had weatherstripping problems either, but now that I've put my new glass t-tops on, my car has a big problem with letting air and whatever else come through.

I've looked over the differences of my lexan's and my glass ones, and the difference is that the lexan's have extra weatherstripping along the outside edges that fill a small gap between my weatherstripping on the car and the weatherstripping on the t-tops themselves. The glass t-tops don't have this extra weatherstripping causing a slight gap between the weatherstripping attached to the car and the non-existent weatherstripping around the glass edges on my glass t-tops.

Has anyone else had a problem with this, and if so what did you do to fix it?

...And if anyone else has any ideas on how to fix it feel free to share.

Thanks everyone.

I know, I did too. That's why I was wondering if it was just me, because I haven't heard anything about them being not interchangeable.

Re: T-top trouble!

The old seals has gotten shaped by the extra thickness of the lexan tops with the seal on them. Since the rubber no longer springs back to orginal shape with no pressure on them they will not seal as well to the class one.

If you take off the plastic trim off the A and B-piller where the T-top latches in you can adjust the bracket down some this should help tighten up the glass to the car.

Or you could buy at a auto parts place the trim that people put along the door seam and see if that would fit on the glass tops to fill in the air gap.

Of course there is always new seals, but you have to adjust the brackets when you put on new seals.
